GIVE A HAND
Give A Hand Organization will continue working on raising awareness about the unjust treatment and victimization of Syrian refugee children. In 2019, the Give A Hand Organization will release a book using the stories of the Syrian refugee children that were gathered during the Istanbul summer program. In addition, a documentary production prepared in collaboration with Open Citadel will be completed. This documentary will be screened across the World beginning with Europe. Again, Pizza, Democracy & The Little Prince, a short film produced in collaboration with Open Citadel that has been named a finalist in various international social impact awards, will be shown in international film festivals in 2019.
The biggest goal of the Give A Hand Organization for 2019 is to create an aid center where 80 Syrian refugee children registered with the organization can get continuous yearlong aid to ease their integration and fulfil their basic and educational needs. This center will provide college students studying in Turkey a yearlong volunteer opportunity.
Throughout the year, the Give A Hand Organization will continue distributing food, baby diapers, baby food, and other basic necessities to 50 registered refugee families. In addition, 80 registered Syrian refugee children will be provided books, school supplies, and other educational essentials.
High school chapters and individual volunteers can create campaigns or fundraisers to acquire the following supplies to sustain their volunteer experiences throughout the year:
Computer and/or notebooks for 80 students (used or new)
Annual educational expenses of 80 students ($100 per kid)
Monthly food package for families ($50 per family)
Baby food and diapers ($50 per family)
Books for school libraries and refugee children (used or new)
